REWORK BERNINA NZ 12x12 Quilt Challenge Group

In support of this challenge we invite you to come along to our group sessions where you can share your ideas and get to work creating your masterpiece with us at All Things Bernina. Details of the challenge below. We will have two group sessions Tuesday 25th Feb and Tuesday March 25th and will accept your entries up until April 12th (as we are closed April 13th). This isn't a guided class but a space to create in and to bounce your ideas off others too. Tea and coffee supplied. You can come to one or both sessions!

CHALLENGE DETAILS:

Calling all quilters and textile artists! We invite you to participate in the BERNINA 12 x 12 Quilt Challenge, the theme for 2025: REWORK.

This challenge celebrates the beauty of transformation, urging you to create a quilt that incorporates scraps, upcycled, reworked textiles or orphan blocks.

Showcase your creativity and skill by breathing new life into old materials and be in to win a BERNINA 325. Each quilt must measure 12 x 12 inches and embody the spirit of reimagining and repurposing fabrics that might have otherwise been discarded.

Submission Guidelines:

• Theme: REWORK - Your quilt must contain some scrap, upcycled, or reworked textile.
• Size: 12 inches by 12 inches
• Deadline: 13 April 2025

Whether you're driven by sustainability, innovation, or the sheer joy of quilting, we want to see how you interpret the theme of REWORK. This is your opportunity to contribute to an exhibition that celebrates the art of giving textiles a second chance.

Join us in showcasing the endless possibilities of reworked textiles. Let your creativity shine and inspire others to see the potential in the overlooked and the beauty in the forgotten.

The quilts will travel with us during the year and the winning quilt will be chosen by a viewers choice vote.

All entry details, including terms and conditions, are on the entry form, entries need to be in to your local BERNINA Sewing Centre by no later than the 13 April 2025. Entry forms are in store.
